Today Bluehost has lost the confidence of thousands, of not millions of their clients and as I write this, thousands of clients are transferring their sites to a more secure server, a place where they will know that their site won’t go down because of a power outage. Really, power outage? That is starting to sound more like India. I can’t believe that in this day and age, a company of BlueHost’s size does not have a generator to back up their systems. We have an entire portfolio of clients using Bluehost and today we’re making the switch…
When I called them they very candidly told me that there is no back up service or system in place to protect their clients in a situation such as what happened today. I am not sure about you, but for us, this is a very big deal. We spend thousands of dollars on paid advertising for a number of clients…all those dead links…just think about it. It makes me sick. All they had to say was: We’re sorry about that…it should be back up within a few hours….What? A few hours? I need my site back up NOW. “Sorry sir, the power company has been notified”. Wow…when I heard that I as relieved…Thanks for that peace of mind…who will pay for the wasted marketing dollars that we’ve invested so far? Will BlueHost foot the bill???
OUTRAGEOUS!
